ICG Labs LLC ("we," "us," "our") operates Paiv at paiv.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our Service. By using Paiv, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Phone number — collected during verification to authenticate your account and send match notifications and OTPs via SMS.
• Display name and profile photo — used to create your public profile visible to matched partners.
• Activity preferences — the sports and activities you want to be matched for (e.g., tennis, pickleball, climbing).
• Skill level — optional range you set per activity to improve match quality.
• Location (city or zip) — used to match you with partners in your area. We do not continuously track your location.

Information collected automatically:

• Device and usage data — browser type, operating system, pages visited, and time stamps, collected via server logs and analytics.
• Optional GPS data — only during a scheduled activity window if you choose to opt in for check-in verification. This data is time-limited and not used for background tracking.
• Attendance records — whether you showed up to events you committed to, as confirmed by you and/or your matched partner.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and authenticate your account via phone number OTP.
• To auto-match you with compatible activity partners.
• To send SMS notifications: OTPs, match alerts, reminders, and post-activity prompts. (See SMS Policy.)
• To maintain your attendance record and calculate your verified show-up score.
• To improve matching quality, detect fraud, and prevent abuse.
• To communicate with you about service updates and policy changes.

3. SMS Communications and Opt-Out

By verifying your phone number, you consent to receive automated SMS messages from Paiv as described in our SMS Policy. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message and no further marketing or notification messages. OTPs for account security may still be sent if you request them.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for third-party marketing. We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

• With your matched partner — after mutual commitment to an event, your first name, photo, and activity details are shared with your partner.
• Infrastructure providers — we use Firebase (authentication and database) and Vercel (hosting) to operate the Service. These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements and may not use your data for their own purposes.
• SMS delivery — we use Twilio solely as a message-delivery carrier to transmit SMS messages you have requested. Twilio acts as a data processor and does not receive, retain, or use your SMS opt-in consent for any purpose other than message transmission on our behalf.
• Legal compliance — we may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
• Business transfer — in the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred as part of the transaction, with notice to you.

SMS opt-in consent — the fact that you have agreed to receive text messages from Paiv — is never sold, rented, shared, or transferred to any third party for any purpose. Consent is collected solely by Paiv and used solely to send you the messages described in our SMS Policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer (e.g., transaction records).

Optional GPS check-in data is deleted within 24 hours of the event. Attendance records (showed/did not show) are retained for the lifetime of your account to support the community trust system.

6. Your Rights and Choices

• Access and correction — you can view and update your profile information at any time through the app.
• Deletion — you can delete your account and request deletion of your data by emailing hello@paiv.app.
• SMS opt-out — reply STOP to any message or contact us to be removed from SMS communications.
• California residents (CCPA) — you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" of personal information (we do not sell it).

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase Authentication, and access controls to protect your personal information. No system is 100% secure; we encourage you to use strong authentication practices and not share your OTP codes.

8. Children's Privacy

Paiv is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will update the effective date above. For material changes, we will notify you via SMS or email where feasible. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
